Together with the Swiss weaver Lise Gujer, the expressionist Ernst Ludwig Kirchner constructed colorful carpets and monumental wall hangings. The essay focuses particularly on his collaboration with regional embroiderers, who executed his designs on pillowcases according to his instructions.
